4 schools & 8 teachers across Sub-Saharan were nominated amongst the world’s best and innovative by Microsoft

Last week, four schools and eight teachers from across sub-Saharan Africa were nominated amongst the world’s best as part of Microsoft’s 2014 class of Mentor Schools and the Inaugural Class of Expert Educators. These exclusive one year programmes recognise visionary educators who are using technology to improve student outcomes, equip them with 21st century skills, and who are paving the way for other teachers by demonstrating the effective use of technology in learning.

127 digital hubs will boost high-quality teaching and learning in Africa

Over half a million teachers and learners in nine countries in Sub-Africa are set to experience a step change in access to digital educational resources in their schools. British council and Bharti Airtel have joined forces to maximize the learning benefits of Bharti Airtel’s wider broadband connective of 5 GB per month in a three-year deal for 127 digital hubs located in schools across nine countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.

3D (three dimensional) eLearning to fulfil educational objectives in Tanzania

AllAfrica Global Media (allAfrica.com) hosts an interesting article taken from the Tanzania Daily News. According to the article, steps have been taken for students and teachers countrywide to have access to Three Dimensional (3D) interactive multimedia experiences by the end of the year.

This became a closer reality when action was taken this week towards supporting the fulfilment of their educational objectives. It was manifested with the formalisation of a partnership between MediaOne Productions (MOP) and the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) at the latter's premises in Dar es Salaam on Thursday.
