Mobile East Africa 2014 opens in Nairobi, Wednesday

It is all systems go for the fourth Mobile East Africa, which gets underway on Wednesday.

According to an article published on BizTechAfrica, Former Kenya’s Permanent Secretary of Information and Communication Dr. Bitange Ndemo and mobile expert Tomi Ahonen will grace the three-day interactive mobile-focused meeting which opens in Nairobi on Wednesday.

Ndemo, who is also the Honorary Chairperson of the Alliance for Affordable Internet will be part of a panel discussing the future of the mobile ecosystem in East Africa.

Dr. Ndemo is regarded as the father of broadband in Kenya, having championed the development of fiber-optic cables and other supporting infrastructure in the Eastern Africa region, making Kenya one of the most wired countries in the world.

According to the conference organizer, Matthew Dawes, world-renowned mobile expert Tomi Ahonen will deliver a special address during the main conference and also have a dedicated full-day workshop on Friday, February 14.

In a bio posted on the conference website, Mr Tomi  Ahonen is a bestselling author of 12 books and a leading consultant in mobile with a global client base from the Fortune 500.
