Botswana Daily News: Botswana, Sweden relationship deepen

Sweden will continue to assist Botswana past 2013 under the 2008-2013 Botswana-Sweden Partner Driven Cooperation Agreement.

The Swedish Director General for Trade Ambassador, Ms Eva Walder said at the fourth bilateral forum to check on the status of the projects under the agreement in Gaborone on October 8. She said her country had identified many areas that it intended to continue offering support to Botswana.

She said the business sector and the cooperation between the Bangladesh Unified Revenue Service and the Swedish Tax Authorities were some of such projects. She further said trade and capacity building, scholarships and e-governance would be future areas of cooperation.

The permanent secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr Lapologang Lekoa said there was need to make follow-ups of previous undertakings such as the need to explore greater regional dimension through regional hubs.
