Africa and Middle East in Need of High Performance Wireless Connectivity Technologies

According to an article published on, the lack of robust technologies that can maintain their high performance even in harsh climate has been cited as the cause poor services to customers according to wireless manufacturer Cambium Networks.


Speaking at the Connect the Unconnected event held in Dubai President and CEO of Cambium Networks Atul Bhatnagar said there was need for wireless to be deployed In the Middle East and Africa where internet connection remains elusive especially in remote areas. He said the Motorola born company has the capability and know-how to build networks that can address the market gap with its breakthrough broadband platforms. "Resiliency, scalability, performance and security are the foremost requirements of the wireless networks being deployed across the Middle East and Africa. Having emerged from Motorola's wireless broadband solutions division, Cambium has a rich heritage and the knowledge to deliver the required broadband solutions for the market without sacrificing quality or performance." He said. Cambium says its ePMP remote connectivity platform as well as the high powered PTP650 point to point system has already proved itself on the market front generating waves due to its reliability. The ePMP is particularly suitable for the Middle East and Africa where it is not always possible to lay fiber cables for high speed connectivity. "Other products in the market are either too expensive or simply cannot meet the resiliency demands of the harsh climate here. Cambium has achieved something truly incredible by overcoming both these obstacles," Bhatnagar added. Cambium's partner in the region Prologix distribution through its managing director Sarwan Singh said that the internet had proved to be driver of businesses and economies and thus hence the company would strive to connected the main areas that remain without it.
